Understanding your EEO rights is important. This document below explains some things to consider when requesting a religious or medical accommodation and submitting an EEO complaint. The accommodation process and the EEO process are two separate processes, but they are often linked. A request for accommodation that has been denied or that your employer has handled poorly could form the grounds for an EEO complaint, depending on the circumstances.

The most relevant types of discrimination in the vaccine mandate context are religious, disability (this is a broad term that includes many medical conditions), perceived disability (the fact that your agency is treating you like you are sick with COVID-19 by testing you frequently, because you have not been vaccinated or have not disclosed vaccination status), pregnancy or conditions related to pregnancy (including attempting to get pregnant), or genetic information.
